NBA Playoff Spotlight: Nikola Jokic The Ultimate Lineup

Denver Nuggets Center Nikola Jokic has already had a heck of a season so far. He finally won his first MVP award after several seasons of excellent play and coming up just short of the coveted award. Now, he’s leading the Number 1 seed Nuggets into the Western Conference Finals after a dominating first two rounds. He was at his best against the Phoenix Suns. How dominant was he, you ask? Well, he scored 32 or more points 3 times, including 39 points and a 53-point effort in Game 4! Yesterday, on the road, he couldn’t have been better. A 32 point triple double with 3 steals and shooting over 72% from the floor on the road, in a hostile environment? Yeah, that’s what the MVP does. The Nuggets now await the winner of the Warriors/Lakers series. While these two teams will continue throwing haymakers, the Nuggets will get to rest up, all the while knowing they have homecourt advantage no matter who that series.

This certainly appears to be Jokic’s time in the sun. He’s been on the Nuggets since entering the NBA in 2015. He very well may be the best player to ever be drafted in the 2nd round. All he’s done in his entire career is work hard and do everything he can for his organization. While his team has had early playoff exits before, he’s always done his part. In the playoffs, he’s averaging over 30 points, almost 13 rebounds, and just under 10 assists per game. Nearly averaging a triple double against the best players and coaches in the league, while everyone knows he’s the number one option? That’s incredible production. This is why he’s well on his way to the Hall of Fame.

Nuggets fans can only hope there’s a championship title in this run as well.
