The Braves are sending their ace to the mound to try and win a series against the Athletics. Spencer Strider has turned it on recently, pitching two consecutive quality starts. He’s rounding into form after getting a late start to the season. The Athletics counter with southpaw JP Sears, who to his credit, hasn’t given up an earned run in each of his last 2 starts. However, he’s still having a rough season with a 4.76 ERA and 1.27 WHIP. He’s been BRUTAL at home this season as well, pitching to an unsightly 5.63 ERA, .276 WHIP, and 1.43 WHIP. As we saw yesterday, the Braves have the lineup to pound plenty of hits and runs. The Braves simply have the better team and thanks to the blowout yesterday should have ALL of their premium bullpen arms available. The Athletics just don’t match up with the Braves at all!
