Michael Wacha is Under this line in back-to-back starts and in 3/5. He’s Under this line in 10/18 starts overall. We have a few things working in our favor here. The Royals had the day off yesterday and there’s only 3 games until the All-Star Break. The Mets are 6th in wRC+ in the last 30 days and overall are a VERY patient team. They see the most pitches per plate appearance in all of baseball! Recent history also shows that the Mets just don’t let starters go deep in games. Wacha has really struggled in his last 3 starts, giving up 3 earned runs or more in all 3 starts, giving up 8 or more hits in 2/3, and 2+ walks in each of his last 2 starts. That’s a BAD COMBO when you’re facing a team that’s patient like the Mets. Manager Matt Quatraro won’t hesitate to fully use his bullpen.
