The WNBA Draft is an annual draft held by the WNBA through which WNBA teams can select new players from a talent pool of college and professional women’s basketball players. The first WNBA Draft was held in 1997. The 2023 WNBA draft takes place on Monday, April 10 in New York City. After an amazing March Madness many of these women are ready for their stars to shine in the draft.
The 2023 draft class is led by Aliyah Boston. Aliyah is the 2022 National Player of the Year, two-time Naismith Defensive Player of the Year, and a multiple-time All-American. The South Carolina Gamecocks dominated the season with an all-time great Senior class, “The Freshies.” and with several Seniors moving onto the draft they will likely change the game going forward. Also in the mix are Tennessee’s Jordan Horston, Iowa State’s Stephanie Soares. Stanford’s Haley Jones, Indiana’s Grace Berger and Villanova’s Maddy Siegrist.
