Road Trips for Baseball Fans-Planning your “Baseball Loops” The Ultimate Lineup

Spring is here and baseball begins in just a couple of weeks.  What does that mean?  It’s time to start think about road trips.  There are several things you will want to consider as you plan your trip.  How much time do we have?   How long can we stay in the car?  What else do we want to do besides see a game?  While seeing all 30 teams is the ultimate goal it is a big, beautiful country.  There is a lot to do in each city and along the way.  Over the next few weeks, we will highlight some of the best road trips you can take with your family and friends.  Not only will you see great baseball, but you will see beautiful parts of the US that you may not have considered visiting.  So, which city do you want to start with?  The plan starts with the development of your “baseball loop”.  The loops consist of the teams you want to see according to their schedules, and where you can reasonably drive to depending on your time constraints.  So, in the east, consider building your trip from Boston to New York.  There are three teams to consider, Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees and the New York Mets.  Boston is a great city filled with lots to do.  A trip to Salem, Massachusetts is fun for the whole family. Along the way consider a trip to historic Rhode Island for a tour of The Breakers, the beaches in Connecticut, or a visit to the Mystic, Connecticut Aquarium.  New York teams can be reached in a 4-hour car trip.  Another goal of these trips is to see as many of the 50 states as you can.  We are on our way!
