Xam’s Daily Gems 4-27 2000 1125 The Ultimate Lineup

Thunder/Pelicans Over 210 Points -110 DraftKings

These teams combined for 216 points in Game 2, and the Thunder did most of the heavy lifting, scoring 124 points in a dominating win. The Pelicans looked wholly unprepared for the game and moment, but now they’re back in the friendly confines of the Smoothie King Center. The season is on the line for the Pelicans here, so it’ll be all systems go for them. During the regular season, they averaged just under 115 PPG at home! Even without Zion Williamson at home, they averaged over 109 PPG. If they can get near that total today, the Thunder should be able to do the rest! Brandon Ingram, CJ McCollum, and Jonas Valanciunas NEED to step up offensively. Given that the season is on the line, all of their starts should see more minutes than usual.

The Thunder look locked in and their offense is rolling. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Chet Holmgren, Jalen Williams, and the rest of the team will be ready to go up 3-0 in this series, and not give New Orleans any semblance of a chance to make a comeback in this series. The Thunder averaged 117 PPG on the road this season, and if they get anywhere near that total today, this game should fly over once again!

Mets +1.5 -152 FanDuel

The Mets have lost 4 of their 5 games after dropping the first game of their series against the Cardinals. The issue has been that they just aren’t hitting enough. They’ve scored 2 or less runs in 4 of their last 5 games. The Mets turn to Adrian Houser today at Citi Field. He’s made 4 starts. 2 of them have been at home and 2 on the road. He’s been awful on the road, but really good in 2 home starts, posting a 2.61 ERA at Citi Field this season. The Mets have also gotten great pitching from their bullpen this season, and they’ll have all of their top arms available to go today.

The Cardinals turn to Sonny Gray, who’s gotten off to a good start this year. He has a 1.04 ERA through 3 starts and it took him 3 starts to actually give up a run! The Mets will need to be locked in to score today. The Mets are averaging 3.69 runs per game at Citi Field this year. They’ll probably need to get above that number to cover the +1.5 today. However, they have the bullpen edge and will be more inclined to aggressively use their bullpen arms to end this losing streak and get back on track.

Orioles Money Line -178 FanDuel

The Orioles are looing for revenge today after blowing a 9th inning lead to the A’s yesterday. A pair of southpaws go at it today at Camden Yards, with JP Sears and Cole Irvin getting the starts today.

Irvin will be facing his former team today, and will look to build off his best start of the year his last time out. He threw 6.2 scoreless innings against the Royals, which is no small feat! He faces a MUCH weaker lineup today. The Orioles have been scoring plenty of runs this year, and they should get back on track after scoring just 2 runs yesterday. The Orioles have averaged 5.54 runs per game at home this year, so yesterday was just an outlier.

The Orioles should have their best bullpen arms available today as well. If the lineup can get back on track and put some runs on the board, the Orioles should be able to even up this series and set up a rubber match tomorrow!

Marlins Money Line -130 DraftKings

Edward Cabrera makes hi 3rd start of the year for the Marlins. He’s gotten off to a good start, coming into today with a 3.27 ERA. However, he’s been better at home throughout his young career. His first start of the year was at home against the Giants, when he threw 6 innings of 1 run ball. Overall he’s 10-4 with a 3.43 ERA at home in his career. His comfort is there in front of the home crowd and he has the stuff to get outs and give his team a chance to win.

Southpaw Mitchell Parker goes for the Nationals today, and his career couldn’t have gotten off to a much better start. He’s coming off 7 scoreless innings against the Astros AND threw a quality start on the road against the Dodgers in his debut! However, last year in the minors he had a 4.72 ERA. We also know that pitching on the road is usually tougher for younger pitchers, so Miami has that advantage in this one.

The Marlins just aren’t scoring a lot of runs. They simply HAVE TO find ways to push runs across today. The pitching hasn’t been great, but that’ll likely get better as the young guns get some more experience. If the Marlins can do anything offensively, they SHOULD be able to even up this series and give their fans a happy ride home.

Celtics/Heat Over 204 Points -110

Despite Jimmy Butler not playing in this series, both Game 1 and Game 2 have seen the Total go Over. The Heat shockingly did the heavy lifting in Game 2, scoring 111 points on the road and securing a huge upset. The Celtics will undoubtedly be pissed off coming into this game, and rightfully so. The Celtics have had nothing short of an electric offense all year, and they averaged 118 points per game on the road this season. In 2 road games in Miami, the Celtics scored 110 and an incredible 143 points, so they have shown an ability to score points against this defense. Look for Jayson Tatum, Kristaps Porzingis, and Jaylen Brown to be locked in today.

Once again, we’re counting on the Heat to score some points and keep this game close. Despite winning Game 2, the Heat are still heavily outmanned and will need to play a top notch game just to keep it close. If we can get production from Bam Adebayo, Tyler Herro, and some from Jaime Jaquez Jr., we should see the Over hit once again! The Heat actually played well offensively without Butler at home. They averaged 111 PPG without Butler at the Kaseya Center this year. If they get ANYWHERE near this Total, it should go Over EASILY!

Rays -1 -185 DraftKings

Aaron Civale makes the start for the Rays as they look to even up their series against the White Sox. Civale has a 3.90 ERA through 5 games, but he’s given up 8 runs in his last 2 starts. This is a good opportunity for him to get back on track against a porous lineup. The White Sox counter with Jonathan Cannon, who’s coming off a start where he lasted just 3.2 innings and gave up 6 runs. The Rays have struggled to score at times this year, but this is the PERFECT time to get back on track.

The Rays are under .500 coming into tonight and just 4-6 in their last 10 games. They’re scoring less than 4 runs per game this year. They NEED to get their lineup going if they want to return to the playoffs.

The White Sox, despite winning yesterday, are nothing short of terrible. The Rays have the experience, the better pitcher today, and the superior bullpen. Look for Kevin Cash to be aggressive with his premium bullpen arms if he needs to be. Losing a series to the White Sox would be embarrassing, and in the competitive American League, it’s not something the Rays can afford to do. If they can score some runs off a young pitcher, Civale and the bullpen SHOULD take care of the rest and even up this series!
