Xam’s Daily Gems:
Blue Jays -1 -170 DraftKings
Chris Bassitt is starting to find his groove. He threw 7 scoreless innings against the White Sox in his last start. The White Sox have lost 5 straight and 9 of 10. They have the fewest runs in the American League by far. Toronto’s bats woke up yesterday despite the loss and if they get their big bats going they should be able to turn their season around.
Twins Money Line -158 FanDuel
Joe Ryan has been really good this year despite having an ERA above 5 when pitching at home. He’s simply too good to keep doing that. The Royals aren’t scoring much on the road this year and today’s starter Alec Marsh has a career road ERA of 4.41. The Twins will have their elite back of the bullpen guys ready and have the better starting pitcher in this matchup. Keep this one simple!
Dodgers/Mets Over 8.5 Runs -118 DraftKings
The Dodgers have been mashing the ball all year and shouldn’t have any issues tagging Mets starter Tylor Megill today. He is making just his 3rd start of the year after dealing with shoulder soreness. More importantly for this Play, the Mets offense FINALLY showed some life yesterday with 3 runs in the 9th. Gavin Stone is certainly hittable for the Mets. He’s proven to be hittable on the road in his young career and the Mets have shown some power recently. If the Mets can contribute here, we just may have offensive sparks flying at Citi Field!
Phillies/Giants Over 8 Runs -114 FanDuel
Both starters in this game have struggled this year. Taijuan Walker has a 5.06 ERA and he’s been equally bad on the road and at home. Blake Snell has an UGLY 11.40 ERA. He may be better than that, but that’s still impressively bad! The Giants scored runs over the weekend and the Phillies boast one of the best lineups in baseball. Simply put, we should see runs early and often in this one.
Padres -1 -134 DraftKings
Marlins lefty Trevor Rogers is not having a good season, coming into today with an ugly 6.11 ERA. His ERA on the road this year is 6.50 and last year was 5.79, so he’s clearly vulnerable on the road. The Padres boast real heavy hitters in their lineup, who can mash teams! Michael King goes for them today. He’s been bad at home but that simply has to change. Facing a weak lineup today is a great way to get back on track, and the Padres should have ALL of their elite bullpen arms ready for this game!
