Prop betting can be a fun way to make unique wagers on the game. Instead of betting on the Ravens or Chiefs to win, you can bet on a player to have over or under a certain amount of passing yards, receiving yards, receptions, rushing yards, and more! Today we will look at two Player Props in the Championship Games and why we like them! These aren’t official Plays per se, but these are certainly Plays we can see hitting given the game script of both games!
Chiefs/Ravens:
Patrick Mahomes Over 26.5 Rushing Yards
Right now, on FanDuel Sportsbook, Patrick Mahomes has a line of 26.5 for his rushing yards. This line is intriguing for a few reasons. First and foremost, the Ravens have an excellent defense. Their ability to rush the passer and make him uncomfortable is second to none, and with guard Joe Thuney hurt, there’s more than a chance that Mahomes will need to use his legs to make things happen Sunday. The weather is also likely to play a factor in the game. The forecast calls for rain throughout the game. This means Mahomes may need to make things happen with his feet if his wide receivers don’t create enough separation consistently. Mahomes went over this number 9 times in the regular season and once in the playoffs so far. He’s also not afraid to use his legs, as he had 8 games with 5 or more rushing attempts during the regular season. He had 6 attempts last week against Buffalo as well. This is an all hands on deck type of game and Mahomes is going to leave it all on the field Sunday.
Lions/49ers:
Jared Goff Over 255.5 Passing Yards
The Lions are currently 7.5 underdogs on Sunday Night to the San Francisco 49ers. This line implies that the 49ers should be winning this game early and often. So, for the Lions to be able to come back, they’ll have to throw the ball to stay in this game and even win it. Jared Goff has the total trust of his coaching staff, and for good reason. Goff went over this number 10 times in the regular season and both playoff games so far. The Lions have plenty of speed receivers and running backs who can catch the ball out of the backfield. The line for this game right now is 51.5, which suggests there will be some offense in this game. The weather forecast for this game is favorable as well. It’s supposed to be sunny and in the 70s on Sunday! It’s all shaping up to be a classic battle and Goff will leave his mark on this game.
There’s no shortage of Props to bet on! That’s the beauty of Props. The only limit is your imagination! Whether it’s props on the QB, WRs, RBs, or defensive players, there’s something out there for everyone.
